Originally I was modelling part of this space station as part of my “Plenty of Space” project and just going to use the window, but it seems to have expanded from there. I may have bitten off more than I can chew though. The ISS is incredibly detailed inside and I have a LOT of modelling to do to get it looking realistic. Wish me luck!
Originally I was going to do a model of the Cupola module on the ISS as part of the NZ Map project but I decided to expand it itnto it’s own seperate project. I then expanded that to make an entire compartment of a space station. Then I started looking at images of a compartment on the ISS and decided to reel it back in a little bit!
Looking for more reference images I found images of the planned chinese space station and decided that was a little more feasable.
I started by blocking out the main shape of the station and then slowly added details employing a number of different techniques for the dressing of objects in the scene. These space stations are incredibly complex and for want of a better word, cluttered so I tried to find a happy medium between actual space station and reasonable amount of modelling for a quick side project.
